Howard County is a county in North East Iowa. It was named for Tilghman Howard, a Representative from Indiana.
The county seat and largest city are both Cresco.
The county borders Winneshiek, Chickisaw, Floyd and Mitchell Counties in Iowa; as wel as Mower and Fillmore Counties in Minnesota.
Main Highways include US-218, IA-9 and IA-139.
